.DISCUSSION...Unsettled weather is expected through the forecast
period as several weather systems impact the western US. A cold
front passing through northern Utah early Sunday brings heavy
precipitation and lowering snow levels to around 7500-8000 feet
through Sunday afternoon. Conditions briefly dry out before a low
pressure system drops down the west coast on Monday, resulting in
increased southerly winds Monday afternoon, with showery
conditions developing Monday afternoon into Tuesday, though snow
levels increase back to around 9500 feet through this period. As a
result, a rain/snow mix is possible for any showers that develop
Monday afternoon, before transitioning to snow overnight. This low
pressure system stalls over northern California Tuesday onward,
keeping showery conditions in place through at least Saturday
morning as tropical moisture is lifted into the region.
