.DISCUSSION...A relatively moist and unstable airmass is resulting in
the development of isolated to scattered showers and
thunderstorms this afternoon. Reports of hail 0.25" to 0.50" in
diameter, frequent lightning, and wind gusts to around 35 mph have
been noted with some of this activity. Additional development of
similar activity, isolated to scattered in nature, will continue
into the evening. Forecast models continue to also show potential
for ongoing/developing thunderstorms across west to northwest Utah
to develop a stronger and more cohesive outflow to push towards
the event site between roughly 5pm to 7pm. While less
certainty/confidence is noted in how this evolves (around 30%
chance), it would have greater odds to carry wind gusts more in
the 50-60 mph range or so. Activity is expected to decrease in
coverage/intensity fairly quickly following this, especially after
8pm or so. Calmer and quieter conditions settle in overnight into
the day Saturday.
