.DISCUSSION...High pressure over the western US begins to break
down on Wednesday as a result of an incoming weather system, which
will bring gradually increasing winds Wednesday and Thursday ahead
of a cold front that moves through overnight Thursday into Friday
morning. As transport winds increase the latter half of this week,
expect good clearing on Wednesday with further improvement
Thursday and Friday. Precipitation may begin as rain on Thursday
night before likely transitioning to all snow behind the frontal
passage overnight. Considerable uncertainty in how this system
will progress is resulting in a notable spread in storm total
precipitation, though widespread wetting precipitation is likely
regardless.
