.DISCUSSION...Another day of showers and thunderstorms is expected
over, and around, the fire area today as monsoonal moisture
remains solidly in place. Late morning cumulus development over
the high terrain will develop into showers and thunderstorms after
about 1200, persisting through around 1700-1800 before
dissipating. Lower chances for showers and an isolated
thunderstorm will be maintained into the evening. As has been the
case for the past several days, primary threats associated with
these storms will be frequent lightning, gusty winds, and heavy
rainfall. Before any storms form, winds are expected to be light
and terrain driven. That said, storm development will quickly
create erratic wind speeds and directions throughout the day. This
trend will continue into Saturday.
