.DISCUSSION...Moisture associated with a weak system lifting through
Utah will increase through the day Monday. The bulk of this
moisture will remain east of the area, but models suggest
sufficient moisture to result in potential for some showers and a
thunderstorm or two (~20% chance) to develop off of the Oquirrh
Mountains and subsequently drift into the valley. The favored
timing of such activity appears to be in the 1400-2100 time range.
This activity would bring potential for brief moderate rainfall,
lightning, and gusty erratic outflow winds. Even if something
develops and drifts elsewhere through the valley, it will have
potential to push gusty outflow winds through the event site.
While there will be a low (10% chance or so) potential for a
lingering shower further on, activity will tend to decrease in
strength and coverage around/after sunset.
