056 FNUS75 KSLC 222241 FWSSLC Spot Forecast for San Pitch RX...FFSL Central Area National Weather Service Salt Lake City UT 341 PM MST Fri Nov 22 2024 Forecast is based on ignition time of 1400 MST on November 22. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION...A cold front will gradually approach the area from the northwest through Saturday, with one more day of mild, breezy southwest winds. Ridgetop winds will be higher than what is indicated in the spot forecast for Saturday, with nearby ridgetop wind gusts around 40 mph. The approach of the front will act to make the atmosphere less stable, and in doing so will increase mixing and clearing. The cold front is expected to move through the area late Sunday morning or early Sunday afternoon, accompanied by a band of snow. Current forecast suggests 2-4 inches of snow for the burn site, with snow tapering off Sunday evening. Increasingly stable conditions will build into the area behind the front on Sunday, with clearing diminishing to around 400. If mixing is too aggressively forecast, could see a scenario where mixing does just sneak over 500. Mixing looks poor on Monday, with clearing in the 200s. This is when the next system will move into the area, with another round of snow late Monday through Wednesday, with higher totals in the 6-12 inch range. .REST OF TODAY...
