337 FNUS75 KSLC 081304 FWSSLC Spot Forecast for South Canyon Ponderosa RX...Bureau of Land Management National Weather Service Salt Lake City UT 604 AM MST Fri Nov 8 2024 Forecast is based on ignition time of 0636 MST on November 08. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION...A ridge of high pressure will gradually approach the region today, moving overhead on Saturday and Saturday night. This will bring increasingly stable conditions with progressively poorer mixing and clearing. A weak wave of low pressure passing by to the north is poised to improve clearing to around 500 on Sunday. An approaching system from the east Pacific will further improve mixing and clearing on Monday thanks to an increase in southwest winds. Excellent clearing is expected Tuesday as the system passes through. Models for the last two days have continued to cut down on potential snow amounts for this burn site, with now only a 20% chance of snow Tuesday. High pressure ridging then builds back in for Wednesday and Thursday, with a return to poor mixing and clearing. Latest indications suggest improvement in the next Friday to early the following week window with a potential for another system to move through the area in this general timeframe. .TODAY...
