.DISCUSSION...Dry conditions spread across the burn area today as high
pressure begins to filter back into northern Utah. Though high
pressure will build, winds will remain out of the north, with
gusts of upwards of 15-17 mph during the afternoon hours. During
the overnight hours into Sunday, a dry cold front will graze the
burn area, bringing an increase in windspeed during the overnight
hours. Much of the wind will be seen on higher elevation ridges
and slopes with greater exposure to the northwest during the
overnight hours. By Sunday, these winds will increase in speed out
of the northwest with gusts approaching the 25 mph for the higher
exposure terrain during the morning and early afternoon hours. A
gradual decrease in wind speed is expected through the afternoon
on Saturday as high pressure strengthens. Warming and drying is
anticipated over the burn through Sunday, with another grazing
storm following quickly in its heels.
