853 FNUS75 KSLC 121229 FWSSLC Spot Forecast for France Canyon...Forest Service National Weather Service Salt Lake City UT 629 AM MDT Sat Jul 12 2025 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 0700 MDT on July 12. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION...High pressure increasing into the area through the weekend will maintain mostly dry conditions at the burn site through the weekend. That said, cannot rule out some cumulus buildups and weak, isolated, high-based showers today and slightly greater chance of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow. These would produce very little to no rainfall but may result in brief and isolated gusty outflow winds. Outside of showers and thunderstorms, winds will remain relatively light, with some gusts to around 20 mph near ridgelines. Otherwise, expect temperatures to gradually trend warmer with the strengthening high pressure. Modest midlevel moisture is set to spread into the area next week which would bring a daily threat of high-based showers and thunderstorms to the area with gusty outflow winds and isolated dry lightning being the main threats. .REST OF TODAY...
