...HOT AND DRY THROUGH THURSDAY; MONSOON RETURNS FRIDAY ONWARD...
.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...Hot and dry conditions prevail areawide
through Thursday, with critically dry conditions continuing for
lower elevation locations across the state. Isolated, mostly dry
showers and thunderstorms are expected each afternoon through
Thursday before a push of monsoon moisture results in storms
trending wetter Friday into the weekend.
.DISCUSSION...High pressure continues to strengthen across the
region through Thursday, resulting in temperatures warming around
10 degrees above average through this period. This pattern will
also favor continued near critical to critically dry conditions
for lower elevations across the state. Isolated showers and
thunderstorms are expected to develop each afternoon through
Thursday, remaining mostly dry with threats for gusty and erratic
outflow winds and dry lightning strikes. Moist, southerly flow
develops on Friday across the region and continues through the
weekend, resulting in gradually increasing RH values areawide in
addition to wetter storms capable of producing heavy rainfall and
flash flooding.
