.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...A warm and very dry airmass will remain
across the region through at least the early part of the week,
bringing very low RH with poor overnight recovery. Widespread
critical fire weather conditions are expected across portions of
central and southern Utah Monday through most of the week.
.DISCUSSION...High pressure over the area today will maintain warm
and dry conditions while winds trend weaker. The decrease in winds
will result in a brief respite from critical fire weather
conditions. However, this will not last as breezy southwest flow
returns tomorrow and continues through much of the week. This will
mark a return to critical fire weather conditions for portions of
southern and central Utah tomorrow through at least midweek.
Midlevel moisture is expected to increase into southern and
eastern Utah midweek. This will bring the potential for high-based
showers and thunderstorms accompanied by gusty outflow winds,
while substantial rainfall looks unlikely. Relative humidities
should recover slightly with the moisture. While afternoon
humidities may increase to around 15% or higher in the mountains
during the second half of the week, valleys will likely continue
to see low humidities which should allow critical fire weather
conditions to continue through late week.
