...ACTIVE WEATHER WITH ELEVATED WETTING RAIN POTENTIAL CONTINUES
THROUGH EARLY THIS WEEK...
.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...A combination of deep moisture in place
and upper level low pressure systems encroaching on the area will
maintain scattered showers and thunderstorms through the early
portions of this week. The highest likelihood for stronger storms
and higher wetting rain potential exists primarily south of I-80
and east of I-15 through that time.
.DISCUSSION...The active pattern continues with deep moisture
continuing to spread north into the district while coinciding
with a weak boundary that remains in place across northern Utah.
Scattered showers and isolated storms have remained in place
overnight, and are expected to expand in coverage later this
morning and through this evening once again, with the focused area
of development in large extending east of I-15 and south of I-80
today. Given the deep moisture in place, storms that do develop
will continue to retain elevated wetting rain potential and the
potential for flash flooding across those locales. Come Monday the
passage of a weak low pressure is expected to once again expand
shower and storm coverage further to the north and west
encompassing most all zones with similar heavy rain potential.
Drier conditions are expected to begin overspreading the district
Tuesday with diurnal shower/storm potential decreasing and
focusing more over the terrain during peak heating hours. Said,
temperatures will continue to remaining roughly 5 degrees below
seasonal norms for the mid/late week period.
