...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM MDT THIS
EVENING FOR NORTHEASTERN GARFIELD AND SOUTH CENTRAL WAYNE COUNTIES...
At 511 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across portions of Capitol Reef National Park...specifically
Pleasant Creek, Burro Wash, Cottonwood Wash, Five Mile Wash, and
Sheets Gulch. Between 0.5 and 1 inches of rain have fallen. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, normally dry
washes, and slot canyons

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, dry washes, and slot canyons which can
become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid these
areas.
