300 AM AST Sun Apr 20 2025

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Puerto Rico.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

.Lightning...Isolated thunderstorms, particularly across
northern Puerto Rico, Vieques, and Culebra, this morning. Stay
alert and be prepared to take shelter if storms develop.

.Excessive Rainfall...Flooding in urban areas, roads, small
streams, and washes, particularly across northern Puerto Rico this
morning. There is a low chance of isolated flash floods.
Elsewhere, plan for water ponding on roads and in poorly drained
areas, particularly across northern and eastern Puerto Rico,
Vieques, and Culebra.

.Wind...Breezy conditions (18-22 kts | 21-25 mph), particularly
across coastal areas of Puerto Rico, Vieques, and Culebra.
Unsecured items could blow around.

.Marine Conditions...Hazardous conditions for small craft in
areas with seas of 7 feet or higher, particularly across the
offshore Atlantic waters, coastal waters of northern and
northwestern Puerto Rico, and Mona Passage. Small craft should
exercise caution elsewhere across the local waters.

.Rip Currents...Life-threatening rip currents are likely in the
surf zone, particularly across northern Puerto Rico. These life-
threatening conditions are possible across southwestern Puerto
Rico and Vieques, with isolated stronger rip currents possible
elsewhere, especially near piers, jetties and channels.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Moderate to fresh winds will persist on Monday, maintaining breezy
conditions that could lead to wind-related hazards, particularly
along coastal areas. Hazardous marine conditions are expected to
continue through Tuesday, driven by these winds and a weak
northerly swell. The high risk of life-threatening rip currents
will also extend into early next week. By the end of the workweek,
warmer temperatures are forecast to return, along with an
increased risk of flooding and lightning. However, these hazards
will likely become more localized, primarily driven by afternoon
convection resulting from sea breeze interactions and diurnal
heating.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is encouraged. Please relay any information
about flooding, winds, waves, and rip currents to the National
Weather Service in San Juan.
