.DISCUSSION...
Drier conditions are expected to continue today with a slight
warming trend. The winds will remain gentle to moderate with a
few higher gusts. However, due to recent rains, soils are wet, and
the criteria for fire danger are not met. KBDI values are all
below 100 except in Cotton value which has 724. (However the 10
hr fuel moisture there is 25--the wettest of all). Guanica has
begun to see some drying of fuels where the 10 hour moisture fell
to 15 percent--still well above critical levels. Therefore, the
risk of dangerous fire behavior is low today. The outlook is for
increasing moisture on Friday which will continue through much of
next week with a few exceptions.
