.DISCUSSION...
Southeasterly winds between 14 - 18 mph with gusty winds up to 23
mph are expected today across the local islands. Currently, the
areas of concern are portions of the southern coastal plains and
eastern portions of Puerto Rico and St. Croix due to abnormally
dry conditions based on the latest U.S. Drought Monitor report.
Nevertheless, the 24 hour relative humidity trend shows values
remaining above thresholds (58 - 61 %), while showers are expected
to move across these areas later today. Given the current
conditions and the expected weather forecast, the risk of fire
danger threat will remain low for today.
