.DISCUSSION...
KBDI values remain above fire danger thresholds across Guanica (694)
and Cabo Rojo (631). However, recent wetting rains from the previous
day are expected to slightly reduce these values. Winds today are
forecast to reach or exceed threshold levels, with sustained speeds
potentially around 15 mph and higher gusts, especially along the
southern coastal plains.
Although this wind pattern could be conducive for fire weather
concerns, trailing moisture from the tropical wave will help
maintain elevated RH values across the region. This moisture will
limit drying conditions and reduce the potential for rapid fire
spread.
As a result, fire weather danger is expected to remain low today,
despite other supportive elements. Nevertheless, conditions will
continue to be closely monitored throughout the day for any rapid
changes.
