.DISCUSSION...
Although low relative humidity values (below 40%) are expected
today, sustained winds across southern Puerto Rico, including
fire-prone areas, are forecast to remain below critical fire
danger thresholdsgenerally under 15 mph. However, occasional
gusts may exceed 25 mph. Despite these marginal wind conditions,
current soil moisture and fuel observations indicate that fire
spread remains unlikely, even in other fire-prone areas where
sustained winds may be slightly higher. In addition, strong north-
northeasterly winds are expected to bring trade wind showers to
windward areas and the local islands, along with afternoon wetting
rains in parts of southern Puerto Rico, further decreasing the
potential for fire activity. As a result, the fire danger risk
remains low today.
