.DISCUSSION...
Southeasterly winds will slightly weaken from the southeast
between 10 - 15 mph, with gusts up to 20 - 23 mph. In terms of
precipitation, showers are currently moving over southeastern and
eastern Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, expected to
continue through the morning hours. Additionally, the 24 hour
relative humidity trend is expected to remain above thresholds
(between 55 - 60 %) over the fire-prone areas such as the
southern coastal plains and hills of Puerto Rico, as well as
Cotton Valley in St. Croix. Given the current conditions and
weather forecast of today, the fire danger threat will remain low
today. Updates to the fire weather forecast will be made if
required.
