...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 AM AST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by this afternoon excessive rainfall is
  expected.

* WHERE...Along Rio Grande de Manati, especially in road PR-2
  between km 51 and 52 from Barceloneta eastward to Manati.

* WHEN...Until 230 AM AST.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water
  crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 831 PM AST, USGS river gauge reports indicated the Rio
    Grande de Manati is out of its bank. Flooding is already
    occurring in the warned area.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Coastal Watershed and Rio Grande de Manati.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Barceloneta.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
