The National Weather Service in San Juan has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Saint Thomas and Saint John in the US Virgin Islands...

* Until 600 PM AST.

* At 311 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms,
  driven by Erin`s outer bands, producing heavy rain across the
  warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
  Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches, with isolated higher
  amounts, are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
  ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  St John, Charlotte Amalie West, Anna`s Retreat, Charlotte Amalie
  East, Charlotte Amalie and Cruz Bay.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
