...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WESTERN CALLAHAN...SOUTHERN
JONES...EASTERN NOLAN...SOUTHEASTERN FISHER AND TAYLOR COUNTIES
THROUGH 400 AM CDT...

At 328 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Stith, or near Tye, moving southeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Abilene, Nolan, Merkel, Tye, Tuscola, Hawley, Buffalo Gap, Trent,
Lawn, Dudley, Noodle, Longworth, Caps, Dyess Afb, Hylton, Eula,
Potosi, View, Happy Valley, and Hamby.

This includes Interstate 20 between Mile Markers 251 and 297.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in San Angelo.
