...Notice of Planned NOAA Weather Radio Transmitter Outage...

The National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office in San
Angelo, TX will be conducting a required, scheduled update to
their Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS)
system from 8 am June 10 through approximately 1 pm June 12. The
NWS uses the AWIPS computer system to display and integrate
weather and water information, and to send life-saving
information, such as weather and water warnings, to the public.

No impacts to our core services of forecast products and weather
watches, warnings and advisories are expected during this period.
However, all NOAA Weather Radio transmitters maintained by NWS
San Angelo will be off air through the time of the install. This
includes the following transmitters in West Central Texas:

San Angelo, TX
Abilene, TX
Junction, TX
Richland Springs, TX
Ozona, TX
Sweetwater, TX
Coleman, TX
Throckmorton, TX

If weather warnings are issued, please have multiple ways to
recieve warnings, including by cell phone, local television, or
online at www.weather.gov/sjt. If there are any questions
regarding this outage, please call the National Weather Service in
San Angelo at 325-944-3030.
