...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING
FOR NORTHWESTERN BROWN AND SOUTHEASTERN COLEMAN COUNTIES...
At 749 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 0.75 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Coleman, Santa Anna, Grosvenor, Voss, Fisk and Mozelle.
This includes the following Low Water Crossings...
FM 1176 crossing Sweetie Creek, FM-RD 136 crossing Hords Creek,
County Road 300 crossing Home Creek, Colorado St. crossing Hords
Creek Draw, County Road 348 crossing Bull Creek, Liveoak crossing
Hords Creek and CR 270 crossing Home Creek.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
