(This evening through Monday)
Issued at 1225 PM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025

For tonight and Monday, an upper level ridge will become more
elongated and extend from Texas northwest to the Four Corners area,
and then north into western Wyoming. This be our dominant weather
feature through Monday. With associated subsidence, skies will be
mostly clear. Overnight lows will be mostly in the upper 60s to
lower 70s. Expect highs Monday to be a little warmer than today and
in the mid to upper 90s. This to occur with 850mb thermal ridge
expanding east into our area, ahead of an approaching cold front
from the Red River.

.LONG TERM...
(Monday night through next Sunday)
Issued at 133 PM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025

Rainfall potential midweek is decreasing, with models indicating
upper ridging in control and drier conditions. Still a few isolated
showers and thunderstorms indicated, mainly along I-10 and NW Hill
country Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs also fall slightly into the
mid/upper 80s Tuesday as a weak cold front moves in.

Isolated thunderstorms still possible Thursday and Friday, with the
slightly better chance for Friday as a weak cold front moves in. The
focus for any significant rainfall has pushed later into Saturday
and Sunday as an upper short wave moves across Texas.

Warm to hot conditions otherwise continue. Highs could again reach
100 in the Big Country Thursday.
