(This evening through Monday) Issued at 1225 PM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025 For tonight and Monday, an upper level ridge will become more elongated and extend from Texas northwest to the Four Corners area, and then north into western Wyoming. This be our dominant weather feature through Monday. With associated subsidence, skies will be mostly clear. Overnight lows will be mostly in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Expect highs Monday to be a little warmer than today and in the mid to upper 90s. This to occur with 850mb thermal ridge expanding east into our area, ahead of an approaching cold front from the Red River. && .LONG TERM... (Monday night through next Sunday) Issued at 133 PM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025 Rainfall potential midweek is decreasing, with models indicating upper ridging in control and drier conditions. Still a few isolated showers and thunderstorms indicated, mainly along I-10 and NW Hill country Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs also fall slightly into the mid/upper 80s Tuesday as a weak cold front moves in. Isolated thunderstorms still possible Thursday and Friday, with the slightly better chance for Friday as a weak cold front moves in. The focus for any significant rainfall has pushed later into Saturday and Sunday as an upper short wave moves across Texas. Warm to hot conditions otherwise continue.
