...New SHORT TERM...

.KEY MESSAGES...

- Dry conditions this week, with near to slightly above normal
  temperatures.

.SHORT TERM...
(Today and tonight)
Issued at 424 AM CDT Tue Jun 24 2025

The synoptic pattern has not changed much, with upper level high
pressure situated over the eastern U.S. and an upper trough over
the western states. This pattern will result in very similar
weather that we`ve experienced the past few days, with warm and
dry conditions persisting. However, winds will be weaker today
but still breezy from mid morning through the afternoon hours.
Temperatures will be near normal for this time of year, with
afternoon highs in the low to mid 90s. Temperatures will be warm
again tonight, with overnight lows mainly in the lower 70s.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday through Monday)
Issued at 1251 AM CDT Tue Jun 24 2025

The long term will remain relatively quiet weather-wise.
Temperatures will be right around normal for the work week, before
increasing a few degrees for the weekend as the upper ridge flattens
out and raises heights over our area. Right now, northwestern
portions of our area are sitting at a medium chance of temperatures
reaching the triple digit mark this weekend. If it does end up
warming to 100 degrees, this would be only the second time that
Abilene would hit 100 this year. Temperatures decrease a few
degrees for Monday and rain chances increase slightly as a weak
disturbance moves through the flow aloft. We could see an isolated
shower and storm throughout this week, with marginally better
chances for Monday.

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1241 AM CDT Tue Jun 24 2025

Stratus with MVFR ceilings will affect the far southern terminals
for a few hours again this morning, otherwise VFR conditions will
prevail. Expect breezy south winds again today, with winds
decreasing after sunset.
