.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Wednesday)
Issued at 1240 PM CDT Tue Jul 29 2025

High pressure will continue to build across the region leaving hot
and dry conditions in place through Wednesday. Overnight lows
tonight are expected to range in the mid 60s to mid 70s, with the
warmest temperatures expected across the Big Country. Wednesday
afternoon high temperatures are expected to range in the mid 90s
and up to 103 degrees, with the warmest temperatures expected
across the Big Country. Generally light southerly winds will
remain in place across the area, with a few areas possibly seeing
some infrequent gusts up to 15 mph this afternoon.

.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday night through next Tuesday)
Issued at 1215 AM CDT Wed Jul 30 2025

Hot conditions continue Thursday with high pressure aloft parked
over the region. Highs of 100 to 102 expected again over the Big
Country and Concho Valley. However, there is good news, as there is
a slight cool down Friday into Saturday. High fall into the lower to
mid 90s as the upper ridge temporarily breaks down, allowing
isolated showers and thunderstorms. This will be short lived,
however, as upper ridging to the west strengthens and builds back
over the region Sunday, with highs back to 99 to 102 degrees in the
Big Country and Concho Valley. By Monday and Tuesday, temperatures
rise up to 103 degrees in the Big Country, with heat indices
potentially rising to heat advisory criteria of 105.
