...New AVIATION...

.KEY MESSAGES...

- A low chance for thunderstorms in the southeastern parts of our
  area this afternoon and evening.

- Quiet weather pattern early next week with temperatures trending
  hotter by Wednesday.

.SHORT TERM...
(Today and tonight)
Issued at 146 AM CDT Sat Jul 26 2025

A minor disturbance is still moving across southern Texas this
morning. As this disturbance continues west, we may see an
isolated thunderstorm (20% chance) across the southeastern
portions of our area this afternoon and evening. The HRRR does
indicate some activity, but the bulk of it appears to remain just
to our south leaving the majority of our area dry. For any
activity we do see, ample moisture still remains across the region
(precipitable water values near 2"), which may contribute to
locally heavy rainfall occurring with any cells that develop. It
will also bring in some cloud cover across the I-10 corridor,
which will keep temperatures a bit cooler across those locations.
Otherwise, the heat will remain the main issue across the Big
Country as highs will remain in the upper 90s to 101 degrees.

.LONG TERM...
(Sunday through Friday)
Issued at 1241 AM CDT Sat Jul 26 2025

Expect hot and dry conditions through next week. Temperatures will
stay mainly below 100 for early next week, mid to upper 90s for
highs. An upper level ridge will move back west over the Southern
Plains next week and with warmer temperatures, a few degrees over
100 across mainly the Big Country next Wednesday and Thursday.
Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s and 70s.

.AVIATION...
(12Z TAFS)
Issued at 432 AM CDT Sat Jul 26 2025

VFR conditions are forecast to remain in place for the remainder
of the TAF period. An isolated thunderstorm remains possible (20%
chance) near KJCT and KBBD during the afternoon and evening. The
odds of this activity impacting a terminal are too low for
inclusion at this point.
