.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Thursday)
Issued at 120 PM CDT Wed Apr 9 2025

Dry northwest flow is in place aloft, with south to southwest
winds at the surface. This, along with sunny skies is allowing for
temperatures to warm into the 80s to lower 90s across the area
today. A very weak cold front that will act more as a wind shift
for our northern counties will move into the Big Country tonight,
with northeast winds slowly spreading south across the rest of the
area tomorrow. However, temperatures will only be a few degrees
cooler for area north of Interstate 10 tomorrow. Highs will still
be in the 80s north of I-10, and in the lower 90s along and south
of I-10. Clear skies with no precipitation expected through
Thursday evening.

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday night through next Wednesday)
Issued at 120 PM CDT Wed Apr 9 2025

Highs on Friday will be slightly above normal across West Central
Texas. Expect highs in the low to mid 80s. A warming trend is
then expected into the weekend with highs well above normal. Highs
on Saturday will approach 90, with the warmest day being Sunday
as an 850mb thermal ridge strengthens across the region. Highs
will be in the low to mid 90s, although a few locations could
approach the upper 90s. A cold front will track south across the
area Monday, resulting in gusty north winds and slightly cooler
temperatures. Highs across the Big Country will be in the low to
mid 80s, where an earlier frontal passage is expected. Highs
farther south will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Expect highs
on Tuesday and Wednesday near seasonal normals, in the upper 70s
to lower 80s. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible
during the first part of next week, but at this point, most
locations look to remain dry.
