.DISCUSSION...
Slightly cooler but continued humid conditions are expected areawide
Thursday and Friday, as the remnants of Tropical Storm Bertha
continues to traverse west along the Louisiana coast. This will result
in increased low level cloud cover over the region as it wraps around
the center, with a tightening pressure gradient resulting in stronger
easterly 20ft winds that could gust as high as 25-30 mph. Isolated to
widely scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible
Thursday afternoon over portions of North Louisiana and Deep East Texas,
diminishing during the evening. Cloud cover could also inhibit
heating slightly Friday, with isolated showers and a few storms possible
during the afternoon mainly over North Louisiana and Deep East Texas.
A return to the hotter and drier conditions is expected this weekend
and especially all of next week, with triple digit temperatures
returning to much of the region.
