Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas...
Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service Shreveport LA
212 PM CDT Sat Jun 6 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Expecting scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms through
tomorrow evening with localized heavy rainfall possible, particularly
along and north of the Interstate Thirty corridor. Conditions will
be very humid during this period of time and the combination of the
humidity and rain will make controlled burning activities difficult
and also keep the wildfire threat very low. Expect temperatures
heating up next work week as a ridge of high pressure aloft develops
over the region and greatly reduces diurnal shower and thunderstorm
chances. Expect the minimum afternoon humidity values to generally
decrease into the 45 to 55 percent range by the middle of next week
with peak heat index values at least in the 100 to 105 degree range.
