Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas...
Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service Shreveport LA
107 AM CST Thu Nov 20 2025

.DISCUSSION...
An unsettled weather pattern has become established across the region,
as southwest flow aloft will result in a series of upper level
disturbances that will help focus scattered showers and thunderstorms
over the area through Friday. Showers and thunderstorms are expected
to increase along and north of the I-30 corridor prior to daybreak this
morning, and gradually shift north with the lead disturbance, before
additional isolated to widely scattered showers and storms redevelop
this afternoon mainly over portions of East Texas, Northwest Louisiana,
Southwest Arkansas, and Southeast Oklahoma. This activity will increase
from the west this evening over these areas, before weakening late tonight
as the next disturbance ejects northeast out of the region into Eastern
Oklahoma and Western Arkansas. Min RH`s today will be abnormally high,
ranging from 55-70+%, and will remain high Friday as warm and humid conditions
persist, and the potential for isolated to scattered showers and storms
continue ahead of a dry line. A weak cold front will overtake this
surface boundary and allow for cooler (more seasonal) and drier air
to spill into the region late Friday night/Saturday, resulting in lower
RH`s for the upcoming weekend. Another approaching upper level storm
system from the west Sunday night through Tuesday morning will result in
an increase in showers and thunderstorms, which looks to provide more
widespread and beneficial rainfall to much of the area. Much cooler and
drier air should follow the attendant cold front in time for the
Thanksgiving holiday and the holiday weekend.
