.DISCUSSION...
The cold front is along I-20 this early morning and will continue
to sink southward into our southern most zones and districts
during today. Cooler upper 60 dew points are backdooring out of AR
into more of the ArkLaTex as the northeast winds persist for days.
We will see some additional showers and some thunderstorms well
south of I-20, as the afternoon heating builds into the upper 80s
and lower 90s. So the heat index will also improve with the
cooler readings and lowering RH. Coverage of convection will be
hit or miss and still moving to the SW as the lower half of the
atmosphere in NE flow. Cells that develop higher up toward
30-40kft will be subjected to SW flow for a time and surface
outflow can make movement a little erratic and gusty briefly near
the downpours. Drier weather lies ahead into the weekend and early
next week with summer temps, but more rainfall will be in the
offing as another large Canadian air mass heads southward to
gather some nearby Gulf moisture during midweek. Until then, our
surface winds will keep NE to E for most of this next week.
