.DISCUSSION...
Elevated fire weather conditions will continue through the end of
the weekend as min RH values drop towards 30 percent this
afternoon and lack of appreciable rainfall maintains drought
problems. A frontal boundary will then approach tonight and
gradually move through the area through Tuesday. This will
introduce isolated to scattered thunderstorm activity which is
likely to produce gusty and erratic winds and wind gusts as well
as brief heavy downpours. A wind shift will also follow the front,
with winds shifting to the W/NW tonight north of the I-30 corridor
and down towards the I-20 corridor by Monday afternoon. Outside of
thunderstorms, do not expect gusty winds along the frontal
boundary/frontal passage itself. Winds to shift areawide to the
NE by Wednesday and become periodically breezy through Friday.
This combined with decreasing post-frontal RHs could spell another
round of increased fire weather concerns by late in the week.
