.DISCUSSION...
Hot and dry conditions are expected once again today, as an upper level
ridge of high pressure moves into Eastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas.
This will result in afternoon temperatures ranging from the upper 90s
to lower 100s areawide, with min RH`s expected to range from 25-35%,
and light and southerly 20ft winds this morning becoming southeast 5-7
mph this afternoon. Hot and mostly dry conditions will continue Monday
through this coming work week, with higher min RH`s expected as 20ft
winds remain south-southeast through the period, thus limiting the
extent of mixing. Isolated showers and a few storms will be possible
Monday afternoon across portions of Central Louisiana, and up to the
I-20 corridor of East Texas and North Louisiana Tuesday through
Thursday, as the upper ridging shifts farther east into the Tennessee
valley and Gulf Coast states, while a weakness aloft drifts west into
the Middle Texas or Southeast Texas coast. With the ridge shifting
farther east, the intense heat will weaken slightly for mid and late
week, with isolated storms possible farther north across the region by
late week into next weekend.
