...The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Oklahoma...Arkansas...

  Little River At Horatio affecting McCurtain, Sevier, Howard and
  Little River Counties.

For the Little River...including Horatio...Major flooding is
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON TO TUESDAY
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Little River at Horatio.

* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon to Tuesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 27.0 feet, The golf course west of Horatio is cut off
  from vehicle traffic by floodwaters.  A few hundred acres of
  lowland flood both upstream and downstream from the highway 41
  bridge.
  At 29.0 feet, The boat ramp recreation area at Wilton, Arkansas
  downstream from Horatio is flooded and closed. Also the golf
  course west of Haratio, Arkansas suffers from overflow.
  At 30.0 feet, The golf course west of Horatio, Arkansas floods.
  Also ranchers should evacuate cattle and farm machinery to higher
  ground and have preparations complete for a major flood.  Expect
  considerable lowland flooding of several hundred acres of grazing
  and farming land.  Expect major backwater flooding of small
  tributaries at their confluence with the Little River such as the
  Cossatot and the Rolling Fork Rivers.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 10.6 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 25.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    early Saturday afternoon to a crest of 30.4 feet Sunday
    morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Monday
    evening.
  - Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    30.3 feet on 04/01/1938.
