...New UPDATE...

.UPDATE...
Issued at 1054 AM CDT Wed Apr 9 2025

No updates are required to the forecast this morning. Temperatures
warm quickly and right on schedule, finding the ArkLaTex in the
upper 60s to lower 70s as we approach the 16Z hour. With slightly
less dry air and increasing winds today compared to yesterday,
electing to let the current max temperatures ride, with sites
still aiming for the upper 70s to lower 80s by midafternoon.

.SHORT TERM...
(Wednesday through Thursday)
Issued at 231 AM CDT Wed Apr 9 2025

Very simple at to the point forecast for the short-term period.
First things first, the upper-air pattern will feature ridging
across the southwest CONUS and troughing over the eastern CONUS
which leaves us in northwest flow aloft throughout. For today,
look for temperatures to range from the mid-70s to around 80
degrees across the region under clear skies. Winds will be out of
the south today with sustained winds around 5 to 10 mph, stronger
across east Texas with gusts around 10-20 mph. For tonight, lows
will range from the lower to mid 50s with increasing clouds across
our northern zones towards Thursday morning. Warmer temperatures
are expected on Thursday, reaching the upper 70s to lower 80s
across the region. Clouds will linger for our northern zones on
Thursday, and there is a very low end chance for some showers but
confidence is very low of this happening. /33/

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday Night through Wednesday)
Issued at 231 AM CDT Wed Apr 9 2025

Dry and mild weather pattern continues into the long-term portion
of the forecast period. Upper-air pattern continues to feature a
ridge across the southwest CONUS with troughing across the eastern
CONUS through the end of the week, with ridging shifting east
towards further into our region into the weekend. Our next chance
for showers don`t come till the start to middle of next week and
to be honest, there is a lot of disagreement in timing and
location at this time. A weak cold front will move through
Thursday night into Friday, which will keep temperatures in the
70s for Friday and Saturday before the ridge really begins to warm
things up for the start of next week. /33/

.AVIATION...
(12Z TAFS)
Issued at 440 AM CDT Wed Apr 9 2025

Other than some very thin cirrus, VFR conditions will continue to
prevail across our airspace over the next 24 hours. Pressure
gradient increases some across the Southern Plains today and the
end result will be some stronger southerly winds today. Look for
sustained S to SSW winds near 10kts today with gusts upwards of
18-24kts with the higher gusts expected across our NE TX terminal
locations. Winds will decouple this evening.
