A brief dry period will continue through this evening, with isolated to scattered light showers developing again overnight and continuing through early Thursday afternoon. Rainfall rates during this time period will generally be around 0.10-0.15"/hr or less. More widespread showers expected Thursday night into Friday with rainfall rates up to 0.25"/hr, locally as high as 0.35"/hr on the south slopes of the San Bernardino Mountains. Showers will taper off from north to south Friday afternoon and evening. Through Friday night, there could be as much as 1 to 2 inches of rainfall along the south slopes of the San Bernardino County mountains. Rainfall is expected to decrease to the south with around 0.20-0.40" for the Inland Empire and Orange County, and around 0.25" for northern San Diego County to less than one-tenth inch across southern San Diego County. NBM probabilities for the eastern San Gabriel Mountains for 1 inch or more of rainfall through Friday night are around 75 percent with around a 45 percent for chance for 2 inches or more. Snow levels will mostly be above 6500 to 7000 feet into Thursday, rising to over 8,000 ft Thursday night then gradually lowering back to 6500-7000 ft Friday evening as showers taper off. $$
