Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southwestern California
National Weather Service San Diego CA
312 AM PST Fri Jan 31 2025

...REMINDER: THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILL BE REMOVING
LIGHTNING ACTIVITY LEVEL (LAL) FROM ALL FIRE WEATHER PRODUCTS
BEGINNING FEBRUARY 1, 2025...

.DISCUSSION...
No critical or near critical fire weather conditions are anticipated
throughout the next week.

A warming trend and drier conditions are expected going into the
early part of the weekend, and then there will be a slight chance of
drizzle and possibly a few light showers by Sunday, mainly for the
west-facing slopes of the foothills. By Tuesday night and into
Wednesday, the probability of a wetting rain will increase as a low
pressure system could potentially impact the region. There will also
be a cooling trend beginning Tuesday and continuing into Thursday.
Please keep in mind that this is still nearly a week out in the
forecast and therefore subject to change, although there is growing
confidence that there will be an increase in the probability of
precipitation across the CWA, especially for the higher terrain and
areas further north.
