.Synopsis for the far Southern California coast...
At 2 AM, a 1016 mb high was 500 nautical miles west of Monterey,
and a 1008 mb low was over El Centro, extending south through the
Gulf of California. Weak onshore flow today will increase for
Friday through Saturday night, with northwest winds occasionally
exceeding 20 knots around San Clemente Island during the
afternoons and evenings. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms
today through Friday, mainly during the afternoons. Lightning,
erratic winds, choppy seas, and/or reduced visibility in heavy
rain would be likely in the vicinity of any thunderstorm.
