...TSUNAMI ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE COASTAL AREAS OF ORANGE
AND SAN DIEGO COUNTIES...

.SYNOPSIS...
Minor day to day changes are expected through the week as weak
troughing persists. This will bring near average temperatures with
marine layer clouds each night and morning near the coast and
adjacent valleys. High pressure to the south may bring slightly
warmer weather by the weekend to inland areas, but near to below
average temperatures may return by next week.

.DISCUSSION...FOR EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA INCLUDING ORANGE...
SAN DIEGO...WESTERN RIVERSIDE AND SOUTHWESTERN SAN BERNARDINO
COUNTIES...

.UPDATE...
A Tsunami Advisory has been issued for coastal San Diego and
Orange counties. Current forecast estimates less than 1 ft at La
Jolla and less than 1 ft at Oceanside. If you are in the advisory
area, remain out of the water and avoid the beaches. A tsunami is
capable of producing strong currents that may be hazardous to
swimmers, boats, and coastal structures. Otherwise, no
significant changes to the forecast package.

.PREVIOUS FORECAST FROM 136 PM...
Beautiful clear skies are seen over SoCal this afternoon out our
window and on GOES imagery. Low clouds will return this evening
across the coast and western valleys with slightly less inland
extent than this morning. The weather pattern remains stagnant
with high pressure over Northern Mexico and a trough draped across
Northern California. This pattern will remain relatively
unchanged through Friday, bringing temperatures near normal and
elevated diurnal winds across the mountain desert slopes into the
deserts. Highs will be in the 90s for the Inland Empire and High
Desert, closer to 110 across the lower deserts; other areas will
be in the 70s and 80s.

Models depict high pressure across Mexico expanding over Southern
California by the weekend. This may help temperatures rise a few
degrees, especially in the lower deserts, where highs may rise
near 5 degrees above normal in the Coachella Valley. Ensemble
models show the potential for yet another trough to form over the
West Coast, which would bring near normal to slightly below normal
temperatures with continued dry weather.

develop and move inland along the San Diego County coast, with bases
700-1400ft MSL. Bases are expected to fall closer to 600-1000ft MSL

through 15z. Low clouds are only expected to make it up to 5-8 miles
inland overnight. Clouds clear to the beaches by 17z with nearly
complete clearing by 20z. Patchy low clouds develop again Wednesday
night, but may not push inland until after 10z Thursday.

.Inland Valleys/Mountains/Deserts...Mostly clear with VFR conditions
through Wednesday.

.MARINE...
A Tsunami Advisory is in effect for coastal Orange and San Diego
Counties. A tsunami is capable of producing strong currents that
may be hazardous to boats, and surging water in and out of
harbors can cause boats and docks to detach from structures. A
Marine Weather Statement is in effect and contains more
information for the marine waters.

&&

.BEACHES...

counties. If you are located in this coastal area, move off the
