Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 95 mph Path Length /statute/: 2.41 miles Path Width /maximum/: 100 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/16/2025 Start Time: 01:25 PM CDT Start Location: 5 ESE Elk Creek / Texas County / MO Start Lat/Lon: 37.1617 / -91.91 End Date: 05/16/2025 End Time: 01:29 PM CDT End Location: 4 NNW Clear Springs / Texas County / MO End Lat/Lon: 37.1614 / -91.8664 Survey Summary: A tornado track was identified in Texas County, east of Cabool and north of Grogan, using Sentinel data. Numerous trees were uprooted and damaged along a confined path starting just east of Highway Y, traveling between and parallel to Rocky Top and Grogan Roads, and ending halfway between Morgan Road and Highway 137. No structures were in the path, resulting in only tree damage found via satellite. The path was collocated with a clear TDS on radar. Based on radar data, the tornado occurred between 125 and 129 PM on May 16, 2025. A picture received via email also showed a funnel cloud in the same area. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0.....65 to 85 mph EF1.....86 to 110 mph EF2.....111 to 135 mph EF3.....136 to 165 mph EF4.....166 to 200 mph EF5.....>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the event and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$
