This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Slight hail risk.
  Elevated lightning risk.
  Elevated excessive rainfall risk

DISCUSSION...

This morning will mark the beginning of our persistent heavy
rainfall event with showers and thunderstorms increasing in
coverage through the day. Widespread rainfall amounts of a quarter
to a half an inch will occur through Friday morning, with
localized areas receiving up to three quarters to an inch of rain.

During the afternoon and evening hours, some thunderstorms will
be capable of producing marginally severe hail up to quarter size,
but lightning will be the main hazard.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

There is a conditional threat for hail up to golf balls and a few
tornadoes, some potentially strong, Friday afternoon and evening.
This risk will be confined to extreme south-central Missouri,
which includes Ozark, Howell, and Oregon counties.

Continued heavy rainfall and flooding is likely late this week
into the weekend. Heavy rainfall amounts of at least 3 to 6
inches, with higher amounts of 6 to 10 inches are possible. This
could result in significant flooding and flash flooding. The
greatest concern for heavy rainfall occurs Friday afternoon
through Saturday evening. A Flood Watch is in effect.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed today and tonight for extreme
south-central Missouri.
