Fire Weather Planning Forecast for southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri
National Weather Service Springfield MO
248 PM CDT Sun Sep 13 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Cloud debris across the area will make temperatures and resulting
relative humidities a bit varied across the region. Generally,
lower 80s temperatures are expected northwest of I-44, with
temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s southeast of I-44. This
places higher relative humidity to the northwest of I-44, though
all areas should not drop below 35-40%.

Winds are currently light and variable with a slight preference of
a northeasterly direction. These will slowly shift to south-
southeasterly overnight tonight as a warm front moves through the
area, increasing to 10-15 mph by late Monday morning. Moisture
should stay elevated with the passage of the warm front, generally
keeping relative humidity values above 40% through Tuesday.
