Fire Weather Planning Forecast for southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri
National Weather Service Springfield MO
107 PM CDT Sun Sep 14 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Unseasonably warm weather to continue into the start of the week,
though relief is in sight with the approach of a mid week cold
front. Isolated to scattered mainly afternoon showers and a few
thunderstorms will be possible over the eastern Ozarks today
(15-30% chance), and then chances and coverage of showers slowly
increase across the region Monday and Tuesday (20-40%). Greatest
chances (30-60%) then exist Wednesday and Thursday as the
previously mentioned cold front slowly passes through.

Look for 8-12 mph south-southwesterly winds today, becoming a bit
more light and variable Monday and Tuesday.
