Fire Weather Planning Forecast for southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri
National Weather Service Springfield MO
257 PM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Surface low pressure system moving into the area has caused our
dewpoints to drop into the 40s near the MO/AR border with RH values in the 20%
range. Northerly wind gusts have also been gusting up to 25 mph at times
this afternoon. No rain is expected today.

Rain chances will increase on Monday into Monday night across mainly
the southwestern portion of the area, while parts of central and
south central Missouri might not see any rain. The areas that will
receive rain will most likely see less than in inch of accumulation.
Additional rain chances will move into the area Thursday.
