Fire Weather Planning Forecast for southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri
National Weather Service Springfield MO
126 PM CDT Tue Oct 7 2025

.DISCUSSION...

In the wake of the cold front that moved through the region early
this morning, a dreary day was in place across the Ozarks. A few
showers and isolated storms occurred with a few lingering around
the West Plains area. Any rainfall accumulation will isolated as
rain move across localized areas.

Winds will diminish to 5-10 mph and be predominantly easterly
Wednesday and Thursday, shifting back to south-southeasterly
Thursday night. This will bring a return to slightly back above
normal temperatures and mostly dry weather for the late week into
the weekend.
