The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Bourbon County in southeastern Kansas...
  Cherokee County in southeastern Kansas...
  Crawford County in southeastern Kansas...
  Western Barton County in southwestern Missouri...
  Western Jasper County in southwestern Missouri...
  Vernon County in west central Missouri...

* Until 815 PM CDT Sunday.

* At 204 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
  have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Joplin, Pittsburg, Nevada, Fort Scott, Baxter Springs, Columbus,
  Girard, Webb City, Carl Junction, Frontenac, Galena, Oronogo,
  Arma, Liberal, Cherokee, Weir, Sheldon, Mulberry, Scammon,
  Purcell, Mccune, Mindenmines, Bronson, Arcadia, Uniontown, Walker,
  Schell City, Walnut, West Mineral, Fulton, Redfield, Treece,
  Hepler, Marmaton, Airport Drive, Lowell, Sherman, Chicopee,
  Nashville and Franklin.

This includes the following low water crossings...
  East Fork Dry Wood Creek at NW 110th Lane, West Fork Pryor Creek
  at Blair Road and Dry Wood Creek at Highway K.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
