Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...Light rain and mountain snow will slowly spread
inland and into Mount Rainier National Park throughout the day
today, continuing into Wednesday. Widespread showers will linger
Thursday with lower snow levels and a chance for thunderstorms in
the afternoon. Active weather will continue Friday night, and
later in the weekend with a potentially more-robust system.

.IMPACTS...Strong winds near the summit will make it difficult to
move safely and could produce local whiteout conditions. A high
level of skill and experience in alpine terrain, including use of
GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping in these
conditions.

.TUESDAY...Mostly cloudy in the morning, then a slight chance of
showers in the late morning and early afternoon. Mostly cloudy
with a chance of showers late in the afternoon. Little or no snow
accumulation near Paradise. Snow level near 2500 feet increasing
to 3500 feet in the afternoon.
.TUESDAY NIGHT...Showers. Snow may be heavy at times. Snow
accumulation near Paradise of 4 to 9 inches. Snow level near
3500 feet.
.WEDNESDAY...Showers. Snow accumulation near Paradise of 4 to
6 inches. Snow level near 4000 feet.
.WEDNESDAY NIGHT...Showers. Heavy snow accumulations. Snow level
near 3500 feet decreasing to 2500 feet after midnight.
.THURSDAY...Snow showers. Snow may be heavy at times in the
afternoon. Moderate snow accumulations.
