Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...A slow moving front will cross western WA this
afternoon for a wet period of weather. Active weather will
continue into next week with periods of heavy precipitation
possible at Mount Rainier National Park. Along with rain, breezy
conditions are likely Sunday night into Monday across the park.
Lower snow levels on Monday could introduce additional snowfall
accumulations at the park.

.IMPACTS...Strong winds near the summit on Sunday night will make
it difficult to move safely and could produce local whiteout
conditions. A high level of skill and experience in alpine
terrain, including use of GPS, is recommended for navigation and
camping in these conditions.

.SATURDAY...Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of rain until late
afternoon. A slight chance of snow in the late morning and early
afternoon, then a chance of rain and snow late in the afternoon.
Snow level near 6500 feet.
.SATURDAY NIGHT...Rain and snow in the evening, then mostly
cloudy with a chance of rain and snow after midnight. Little or
no snow accumulation near Paradise. Snow level near 6000 feet.
.SUNDAY...Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow in the
morning, then rain and snow in the afternoon. No snow
accumulation near Paradise. Snow level near 6000 feet.
.SUNDAY NIGHT...Breezy. Rain and snow. Snow level near 6500 feet.
.VETERANS DAY...Rain and snow. Moderate snow accumulations. Snow
level near 5000 feet.
